And when the two hosts sighted each other the companions of Moses said ‘We have been caught!’ Pharaoh’s hosts have caught us up and we have no power against them.

فَلَمَّا تَرَاءَى الْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: “Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!”
